Welcome to Book Blather! Below you will find information on me, what I read, and what I’ll accept for review. All of our reviews are our own personal opinion and are not influenced by where we receive the book from.
I am a thirty-something Teen Services Librarian near Chicago, IL. I adored YA literature way before becoming a librarian, but I find what I read nowadays is to expand my reader advisory knowledge. This blog is my effort to provide honest reviews that I not only hope my readers will enjoy, but that will better my recommendations to my teens.
Outside of work/blogging, I’m your average geeky girl. At any given time you may find me lost through a camera lens, playing board games with friends, or curled up watching T.V. with my cat & puppy. Currently I have or will be serving on the following committees: YALSA Fabulous Film for YA 2011 & 2012(FFYA), FFYA 2013 (as chair), Great Graphic Novels for Teens 2014 & 2015 (GGNT) & CYBILS: Graphic Novels Judge 2011.
I will still consider books for review, but with committee work my time is becoming limited and am not accepting many pitches. I will do my best to have reviews up in a timely fashion. If you are an author or major publishers please feel free to contact me. At this time, I will not accept self published books.
Books I like to read (assume YA unless noted):
- Anything LGBTQ
- Realistic Fiction
- Fantasy
- Chick Lit
- Graphic Novels
- Verse Novels
- Paranormal Fiction
- I’m trying to branch out more into MG, and am willing to be pitched a MG novel
For an even better understanding of what I’m reading please check out my GoodReads page.

- Print (ARCs or Finished)
- E-book; I can read on a NOOK or iPad
